The Cemetery Chapel:
Religious, secular funerals and other ceremonies
Within the Non-Catholic Cemetery stands a small chapel, designed in 1898 by the German architect Andreas Holzinger under the patronage of the Lutheran Church. The exterior is distinguished by its red brick façade with bands of white travertine, following a style typical of Italian and Northern European Romanesque-Gothic architecture. This harmonious blend is consistently echoed in the features of the entry, roof, and adjacent bell tower, as well as in the interior, which showcases neo-Gothic elements alongside Christian iconographic motifs, in line with the eclectic aesthetic prevailing at the end of the 19th century.
Ceremonies of all faiths, including secular rites, are warmly welcomed, provided they are conducted with full respect for the diverse religious traditions represented within the Cemetery.
Please note that the chapel is available for funerals, commemorations, anniversaries, celebrations, and other ceremonies. However, these services are to be considered separate and independent from burial procedures.
The chapel can accommodate approximately 55 seated guests, with an additional 25 standing, for a total capacity of 80 people. It may be rented in two-hour time slots. Cemetery staff are available to assist with welcoming guests; however, the organization of the ceremony remains the responsibility of the family.
