Group visits with your own guide
We ask you to please contact us at least ten days in advance only via e-mail at ornella.forte@cemeteryrome.it. We cannot accept requests via telephone.

Please provide the following information : where your group is from, name and contact details of the group leader/guide, date and time of visit and number of people in the group.

IMPORTANT: because of the restricted space in the Cemetery and coronavirus legislation, a group must not exceed 15 persons, guide included.

The limit is strictly 15 persons, guide included. We ask guides not to cause unpleasantness and embarrassment to our staff by trying to enter without booking, exceed the 15 person limit or split groups at the gate. If such incidents happen, we will be forced to close to the public again and only open the gate for reserved groups.

We regret that we cannot accept groups of school pupils under the age of 16.

Groups are kindly suggested to leave a donation of at least € 5,00 per person. All donations go towards the maintenance of this private cemetery and important historic site which receives no public funding.

Notes for group leaders/guides
The Cemetery is private property and an active burial ground where funerals and burials take place and where concession holders visit the graves of their loved ones.

The Administration reserves the right to refuse entry to visitors who do not follow the regulations or who disturb the peace and decorum of the site. All visitors enter the Cemetery at their own risk.

You are reminded that the ground is uneven – comfortable shoes are a must!

Before the entering, group leaders/guides should read the Regulations for Visitors and make sure their group members abide by these. If you book a tour and need to cancel or think you might be late, please send an e-mail at the same address or call the Cemetery as soon as possible.

On arrival please report first to the Visitors’ Centre to leave donations and to receive updated information.

Toilets are available but there are no refreshment facilities – there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the nearby Testaccio area a few minutes walk from the site. To plan your tour better, you might like to consult the map of the Cemetery. To find out about our latest activities see our Newsletters. If you would like to support the Cemetery click on Friends.

There is an excellent view of the Pyramid of Cestius from the site, but it is not possible to access the pyramid from the Cemetery.
